Horeca social media platform invests in expansion throughout the Netherlands

Nocto recently secured half a million euros in funding to perfect the hospitality social media platform, to grow the team and to expand further this summer after Rotterdam to The Hague, Breda, Utrecht, Amsterdam and other larger cities in the Netherlands. Based in Rotterdam, Nocto is a data-driven social media platform designed to connect consumers, hospitality venues, events and brands. On the app, it is the consumers who share photos and videos from the locations and events. This content is visible to both their followers and users within ten kilometers. For the first time, consumers will be rewarded for posting through a digital token, the Noc. Nocs can be spent on offers and deals from catering establishments. In this way, the company creates a win-win situation for consumers and the catering industry. Nocto's business platform enables hospitality businesses and brands to learn about their consumers through demographics and behavioral insights, promote events, offer deals and market their business efficiently. With the money raised, Nocto wants to optimize the platform, introduce new functions and further expand it throughout the Netherlands.

Financing for technical developments and marketing

The need to optimize the catering industry has only increased in the aftermath of the corona crisis. The global pandemic has and had a negative economic impact on the hospitality industry, namely the loss of turnover due to various government measures. With restaurants, bars and cafes reopening with this new investment, Nocto is poised to expand and continuously improve the hospitality experiences for its consumers and businesses. The €500,000 in funding will be used to grow and strengthen the tech and operations team and to invest in marketing to consumers. “Corona has changed the hospitality industry forever. This crisis is the perfect opportunity for Nocto to support the hospitality industry by better matching supply and demand,” said David Franzén, CEO of Nocto. The investors have technical backgrounds and, in addition to an investment in money, contribute by providing a software team and relevant networks. Currently, Nocto's focus is on the Dutch market, but expansions to Curaçao and other international cities are also being explored given the scalability of the product.

Up-to-date insights for consumers and hospitality businesses

The startup was founded in 2017 by CEO David Franzén and COO Mark Brouwers, when they realized that existing social media platforms could not provide up-to-date insights for consumers to make informed decisions about where to spend their time. that the time, money and effort that catering companies put into reaching their target groups urgently needed optimisation. “The world is becoming increasingly digital and data-driven. We discovered that hospitality companies and brands are not exploiting the full potential of data and marketing,” said Mark Brouwers, COO of Nocto. Nocto provides a solution to these problems and strives to create a seamless and enjoyable hospitality experience for its users and maximize the revenue of its customers.
